JULEON
INSTRUCTOR
​
Juleon has been dancing salsa and bachata for nearly 10 years and many other dances (merengue, semba, kizomba, cumbia, kompa, and freestyle) for much of his life. Taking a unique approach to dance, Juleon focuses more on concepts, not patterns. An IT Consultant and Project Manager by trade, Juleon enjoys and excels at breaking down the fundamentals of timing, body movement, and connection so that students can use those principles to build their own styles! Juleon has taught classes from Colombia to Singapore and is excited to share his love of dance and history with all who come through the studio doors. When he’s not dancing or working, Juleon enjoys pondering the connections between life, relationships, and partner dancing.
ABOUT PURA VIDA
Pura Vida Afro-Latin Dance is passionate about the history, culture, language, and the dances of Afro- or Latin countries. Having traveled to over 20 countries in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean, PVALD instructors have the goal of bringing the experience, knowledge, and culture of the greater Afro-Latin Diaspora to you! At Pura Vida, we focus on concepts, not patterns and on history and cultural respect, not movement assimilation.
Sharmane Boudy
INSTRUCTOR

Sharmane Boudy fell in love with dance at the age of 7. Starting ballet at the boys and girls club in Anchorage Alaska, Sharmane’s early childhood was marked by frequent moves due to her father being in the military. Her passion for dance grew as a means of communicating and creating bonds with others. Quickly becoming fascinated with dance, Sharmane found herself studying various different styles; learning several new styles with each move. Sharmane has trained and performed with world champions all over the United States and continues to travel, train, and perform with world champions located around the US. Using her background, Sharmane now pulls from her over twenty years of experience to create her own form of movement in Latin dance. Excited to share her expertise with you, Sharmane looks forward to sharing her passion and connecting more deeply through the unifying power of dance.

At Pura Vida, our goal is to get you dancing and enjoying the music as soon as possible! We service the greater-DFW area, so no matter where you are, we have a group class nearby so you can join the fun! But that’s not all; Pura Vida offers group classes, private instruction, as well as special and corporate events! Our group classes are fun and full of energy! Come join us for any of our classes or parties and see what the buzz is all about! With the group class experience, you’re guaranteed to get the same quality instruction, but with the opportunity to meet new people and practice those hot moves with new friends! Group classes are a great option for those new to the area, a unique date night, or even for those looking for a fun way to exercise and get fit!

PRIVATE INSTRUCTION
Private instruction is a fun way that you can super-charge your dance experience! Private instruction is designed to focus on YOU and YOUR dance needs, and the session moves at YOUR pace! Whether you’re looking to move quicker than the pace of the group classes, looking to catch up to where other students are, or just prefer to learn in a more private setting, these classes focus on giving you the individual attention you want to maximize your growth.
